Artist Alumni Forum

Arts Enterprise will be hosting an alumni forum this Saturday, April 28 at the Wisconsin Institute for Discovery at 2:00 P.M. – 4:00 P.M.  The Artist Alumni Forum is available for everyone who wants to listen or ask question from the panel of artists below, or possibly to network with other artists from numerous disciplines.  You can access directions if you type “Wisconsin Institue of Discovery” in map.wisc.

Music Colloquium Event

The School of Musics Colloquium committee and GAMSA are co-hosting an event with New York Times music critic Anthony Tommasini on March 23rd at 4:00 PM (Humanities 2650) as part of the Pro Arte celebrations. Two student hosts will be asking him questions submitted by you! Please email Rachel Goc at goc@wisc.edu any questions you have for him, especially about music journalism, criticism, etc.

Workshops, Events, and Resources offered by Arts Enterprise

The Arts Enterprise Student Association will be sponsoring a few events and resources this Spring semester.  These events are not just offered and available for art majors but for any student that may show interest and is welcome and encouraged to attend.  The locations where the events will be offered will be announced soon.
The Events and Resources that will be offered by Arts Enterprise:

  • Resume Workshop for Artists with UW Faculty (Tuesday, Feb. 29, 6:30 – 8 P.M.)
  • Website Creation and Maintenance Workshop (Monday, March 12, 6:30 – 8 P.M.)
  • Portfolio Workshop with photographer Larry Sanders (mid-April; date TBA)
  • Financial and Legal Workshop (TBA)
  • Alumni Forum with graduates of UW’s art and business programs (May)
  • Opportunities to network with fellow artists and entrepreneurs

“Entrepreneurial Thinking for Artists” by Kimball Gallagher

Kimball Gallagher, a multi-faceted concert performer, singer, songwriter, recording artist and musical entrepreneur, will make an appearance at Morphy Hall room #2330 in the Humanities on Monday, March 5 at 7 P.M.  Kimball Gallagher is a Juilliard-trained pianist in his early 30′s who works on different innovative projects such as a classical and rock performer, as well as a speaker and career coach.  He recently has performed and attended concerts in Kabul and Tunisia for personal reasons.  His talk is titled, “Entrepreneurial Thinking for Artists.”  If you would like more information regarding Kimball Gallagher please refer to his website: www.kimballgallagher.com.
